WELLNESS Center information 101
The Wellness Center at Concord High is operated by Wellness Center Administrator (Social Work Specialist) Karla-Monique Veal. The CHS Wellness Center is a safe place offering support services for academic, health, social and emotional well-being of students, their families and the Concord High School community. The Wellness Center welcomes students to enter the center with intentions for the student to return to the class to complete the daily class assignment. The Wellness Center offers a calming space for students and provides the following supports/services:
- drop-ins
- check-ins
- short-term counseling (depending of staffing)
- family engagement
- linkage to community services and/or programs
- community partnerships
- internships for college students pursuing a Masters in Social Work to help provide services to students who need tier 2-3 support
- referrals for long-term counseling or trauma-related issues
The center is open during brunch and lunch for students to have a welcoming environment. Students are required to have a pass for all other periods.
