Advisory
What is Advisory?
Advisory is a 35 minute period before lunch on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Students will be selected by teachers to be part of their Advisory after the first few weeks of school. This is an attendance driven, non-graded "class," where teachers have the opportunity to help students with work, check their grades and attendance, provide support with study skills, and be their advocate at CHS. Students also have the opportunity to complete homework, receive assistance from students and teachers, attend interventions, make-up tests/class work/projects, engage in silent sustained reading and/or use the time for general study purposes.
We feel this is a great opportunity for students to connect with our amazing CHS teachers in another way to help prepare them for success in college and career opportunities and to help us achieve our mission statement:
“We are a community that strives to inspire independent critical thinkers who are academically, emotionally, socially, and physically prepared to become contributing members of a global society.”
